Ruben was born in August 2015 in Spain, where his two moms - Marta and Daniela - have been living for years. His birth certificate has recently been registered at the Italian civil registry in Naples. This is the third case where the son of a same-sex couple gets his birth certificate recognized by the Italian state (previous acts have been transcribed in Turin and Rome). The NGO Rete Lenford - a group of lawyers advocating LGBTI rights - has welcomed the news: "This is a pioneering act, even if it is just the acknowledgement of a parental status acquired abroad," said its president.
