Due to the restrictions in Italian law on euthanasia, living wills and assisted suicide, a number of suffering Italians must go to Switzerland to fulfill their end-of-life wishes, where the law permits assisted suicide. Thanks to Association Luca Coscioni and its president, Marco Cappato, through their campaign "Liberi fino alla fine" (Free until the end), another Italian citizen was able to travel to Switzerland to end his life, which he did with dignity on April 9th. His name was Davide Trentini, and he had been suffering from MS since 1993.
How long before Italy adopts a right-to-die law?
