Between 8,000 and 10,000 pupils cannot attend mainstream and special needs education. These are children who need, for example, extra supervision because of autism. The ombudsman for children recently claimed that many children fall by the wayside within the inclusive education policy. The hundred parents and children who gathered in The Hague on October 1 want a fund that enables them to set up a teaching program themselves. According to the Ministry of Education, the solution is not in increasing money but in improving existing collaborations within inclusive education.
