Beginning August 1, all refugee centers in the Netherlands will have specific counseling available for LGBT refugees. COC the Netherlands, a Dutch organization for LGBT rights, has advocated for this measure. In some of the refugee centers, support is already offered in a separate section of the center that is specifically assigned for vulnerable persons. A report by the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights and the Dutch ombudsman has indicated that LGBT refugees file relatively more complaints about discrimination.
