The joint visit by the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights and the national ombudsman on January 14 to the emergency shelter for asylum seekers in Heumensoord, near Nijmegen, found that mass sheltering in pavilions is harmful for the security and health of the asylum seekers. In order to improve the livability and safety before June 1, 2016, the Institute and the national ombudsman have given some urgent recommendations.
