The city council of The Hague announced on October 13 that around 600 asylum seekers will be received in the old Department of Social Affairs until the end of the year. After that, they will have to make room for people who already have a residence permit but are still looking for housing. "Some people do not want status holders in their environment. We cannot and we do not want to meet this wish. The city council regards the urgency to receive asylum seekers as a fact and it is our common mission to fulfill this task as best as we can," said the council.
