The Italian newspaper Redattore Sociale published an investigative report on the first days of school of disabled youths. The picture is dramatic. The assistant teachers are entirely insufficient in number and the disabled youths are too often abandoned and left to themselves. The presence of architectural barriers, such as a lack of wheelchair ramps or other structural needs, makes the already tragic situation worse.
