Following public outcry, the French sportswear retailer Decathlon has canceled plans to sell a hijab for women runners in France. The company said the decision was reached after "a wave of insults" and "unprecedented threats". These came from French politicians as well, who said the "running hijab" contradicted the country's secular values, and some lawmakers suggested a boycott of the brand.
