Russian journalist Andrei Nekrasov has found political refuge in Lithuania. Nekrasov, who had been persecuted for criticizing the authorities and convicted of slandering a politician of the ruling party, fled Russia, where he also faces charges for extortion. The long-time critic of the regime and active public figure claims that these charges are political in nature, meant to eliminate him for his work in founding a local trade union.
