Two women who got married in Portugal submitted an appeal to the Court of Rome against the decision of the city's administrative office to refuse to transcribe their union. However, the Court of Rome's recent decision has rejected the appeal by saying that "the couple getting married must be of different genders, as currently required by Italian law for the same legal identity reasons as for the act of marriage." How long until must we wait for same-sex couples to legally recognized in Italy?
