The big inquiry that has been unfolding in recent weeks involving corruption within Rome's politics has revealed many instances of fraud in the management of assistance facilities for vulnerable groups of people, including the homeless. Now it seems the investigation has disrupted operation of many services for the homeless during the coldest months of the year. Shelters are stretched to capacity and many are left out in the cold, where one homeless person was found dead earlier this week.
