Research by the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights points out that the applied remuneration scales at Dutch colleges will promote wage inequality. Colleges use over 30 remuneration standards that may lead to pay inequality based on gender. The study also shows that in cases where too little money is granted, women lose money twice as much and twice as often as men. Minister for Education, Culture and Science Jet Bussemaker has indicated that she will start discussions with the colleges as a result of the report.
