The European Court of Human Rights has forwarded questions to the Polish government regarding a case submitted by sixteen Romanian nationals of Roma origin concerning the demolition of their homes in Wrocław, which was ordered by municipal authorities in July 2015. The government has until January 8, 2018, to respond to the Court’s questions. The Roma families bringing the suit were not made aware of the July 2015 demolition of their camp beforehand, and consequently had no time to find alternative accommodation. They also lost many important belongings, including documents and medicines.
