Poland’s government has rejected the European Commission's requests to address the crisis surrounding the country's Constitutional Court. Prime Minister Beata Szydło said Thursday that her government would not "introduce into the Polish legal system any recommendations that are incompatible with the interests of the Polish state, which are not compatible with the interests of Polish citizens." Almost a year ago, the Commission activated its "rule of law framework," and this summer it gave the government three months to address the "systemic threat to the rule of law" in the country.
