Albanian people who wrongly apply for asylum in the Netherlands will no longer be provided with 200 euros per adult and 40 euros per child upon departure. Klaas Dijkhoff, the state secretary for security and justice, has decided to remove the incentive immediately. "Albania is a safe country. We must make clear that it does not make sense to apply for asylum here," says Dijkhoff. The regulation is intended to promote a voluntary return to the home country. There will also be a two-year entry ban to the EU for people who are from a safe country and were denied in the asylum procedure.
