The Danish parliament has passed a new bill that facilitates the repatriation of refugees. “We wish to send a very clear signal to refugees that, if you are given permission to stay [], this is temporary,” said Immigration Minister Inger Stojberg. The bill, which will enter into force on 1 March, also limits family reunification opportunities and reduces integration allowances. “We are saddened to see that Denmark takes part [] in the European race to the bottom, when it comes to limiting rights for asylum seekers and refugees,” said Christian Bach, of the Danish Refugee Council.
