Italy is one of the few countries in Europe where there are no provisions whatsoever concerning detainees' right to affectivity. If you happen to get jailed, you are just supposed to give up the very thought of having a private life and enjoying some intimacy with your loved ones. The good news is this may finally be about to change, as the Justice Commission of the Italian Parliament has started discussing a proposal to regulate love behind bars. "We're way behind on this, but better late than never," commented Alessio Scandurra, the coordinator of Antigone's prisons observatory, on Vice IT.
