Court witnesses and crime victims will receive emotional support during judicial proceedings. Trained volunteers will focus on creating more supportive and comfortable environment in courthouses. "We took the idea from other countries with long-standing traditions of volunteer support," commented the chairman of the regional courts, the first to provide the services. "People’s fates are being decided in courts, and it can be exceptionally difficult. It is not only about polite treatment and providing drinking water in the courtroom, but also about the actual support."
