While Norway is considering whether to decriminalise drug use, steering away from punishment and towards rehabilitation and treatment, Lithuania is taking a step back. The Lithuanian Parliament voted against decriminalising possession and making it punishable by administrative sanction, which would have been less harsh. Lithuania unfortunately still finds itself among countries whose strict punishment policies marginalise drug users and make it harder for them to get help.
