Lithuania is the 53rd country in the world to ban corporal punishment against children. On February 14, the Lithuanian Parliament voted for the amendments to the child rights protection law, prohibiting all forms of violence against children such as physical and mental violence, sexual abuse, neglect and maltreatment, including corporal punishment.
