Italy has unveils its new plan for migrant reception following the Italy-Africa summit. The plan provides €10 billion in European funding to seven African countries in exchange for stronger control at the borders and greater cooperation for the return of illegal migrants – a deal quite similar to the one signed with Turkey in March. Furthermore, the implementation of new hotspots is planned, some of which will be floating hotspots so "no one can escape," according to the Italian interior minister. This is an extremely worrying measure with regards to the enforcement of asylum seekers' rights.
