There are 25,000 unaccompanied minors living in Italy, and Parliament has finally decided to take measures to protect these vulnerable children. A check of children's age will be done to provide better care in special facilities for all minors. There will be people employed to help find children’s families in Europe and to complete administrative and judicial paperwork. In addition, there are plans for better access to educational and healthcare facilities and new strategies to help child victims of abuses, in their countries of origin but also those that occur while on Italian soil.
