The Italian newspaper L'Espresso initiated a project to fight for the defense of human rights in Egypt. The death of Giulio Regeni, the Italian researcher, put the state of human rights in Egypt in the spotlight. Italian media created RegeniLeaks in order to collect testimonies to find out the truth about Giulio Regeni's death – and the deaths of others. The Regeni case cannot be solved by ignoring all the other victims of the Egyptian regime. The international community cannot ignore this level of human rights abuse. Now the Italian media helps fight for justice.
