"In the first quarter of 2015, the anti-Gypsyism theme receded into the background. In connection with Islamist terrorist activities, the increasingly advocated topic is Islamophobia," says a report on extremism in the Czech Republic. "New populist groups accentuating a mixture of nationalism and xenophobia gained the lead. Proponents of the populist wave with political ambitions reflect the advancements of nationalistic, anti-immigrant or Islamophobic parties in Europe." A notable extremist group is We Do Not Want Islam in the Czech Republic, which has organized five major demonstrations.
