As a member of International Civil Liberties Organizations, the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union supports the position taken by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association against Canada's anti-terrorism bill. The new legislation severely interferes in the private sphere by significantly strengthening the powers of national security agencies to secretly collect and share information, without establishing appropriate guarantees to balance them.
