Hungary's Constitutional Court will begin debating the controversial Civil Act, which triggered the infringement procedure launched by the European Commission against Hungary, on 16 January. Associations and foundations covered by the act must report to the courts if the amount of support they receive from abroad reaches 7.2 million forints (23,300 euros) in a year. They also must indicate on their publications that they qualify as organisations financed from abroad. From the many proposals concerning the legislation, the court will first discuss the one submitted by opposition parties.
