Gay marriage was voted through with a clear majority in the German Bundestag on Friday morning. MPs passed a law that allows full marital rights for LGBTQ people and allows them to adopt children. Chancellor Angela Merkel only dropped her opposition a few days ago and told her conservative party members to "follow their conscience."
