French legal professional associations have called to "cease offering the human and material resources required for legal aid services to function," that is, to paralyze the free legal aid service available to citizens who earn a monthly salary under 941 euros. This call is a resounding response by French lawyers to the government proposal that legal professional associations offset the cost of the free legal aid service, contributing some 5 million euros in 2016 and 10 million euros in 2017 to the Ministry of Justice's budget.
