France says it will set up a number of migrant 'hot spots' in Libya to process asylum applications there, in an effort to stem the flow of migrants coming to Europe. According to French President Emmanuel Macron, there are as many as one million people in camps in Libya who wish to reach Europe, and this move will stop many of them from taking "crazy risks." According to the United Nations, more than 110,000 migrants from Africa and the Middle East have attempted the perilous journey across the Mediterranean to Europe this year.
