Umberto Postiglione, the director of an agency that manages the goods confiscated from mafia members, has proposed to use houses confiscated from the mafia for a new housing project. Mr. Postiglione, whose agency operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, believes that the housing problem is indeed one of the most relevant problems facing Italian cities. With his proposal, Mr. Postiglione has reopened an old public debate.
