In reaction to current events, NGOs promoting women's rights in Germany have created another petition, calling for the reform of the German Penal Code. The facts: In Germany, nearly one in seven women experiences severe sexual violence. 8,000 rapes are reported annually, and the proportion of women who do not report rape is very high (an estimated 85-95 percent). Reported rapists are rarely convicted. In 2012, only 8.4 percent of women who reported a rape saw their attacker convicted. The organization ausnahmslos.org is simultaneously fighting against racism.
