Facebook is to employ fact checkers in the UK to combat disinformation. A foundation called Full Fact will review stories, images and videos and rate them based on accuracy. The key focus will be on disinformation that could damage people's health or safety, or undermine democratic processes. Full Fact explains on its website that users can flag content they think may be false and its team will rate the stories as true, false or a mixture of accurate and inaccurate content. Only fact-based reporting will be checked. Satire and opinion will be exempt.
