The situation of fundamental rights in Hungary will be discussed in the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs on Monday, February 27. The two-hour debate will be held with Hungarian Justice Minister László Trócsányi. Civil society will be represented by the executive director of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, Liberties's member in Hungary, and Márta Pardavi, co-chair of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee. Sources told Liberties that the debate will address the government's plan to impose mandatory wealth declarations for leaders of NGOs in Hungary.
