The European Parliament has adopted a new resolution regarding CIA prisons in Europe, expressing serious concern with the apathy that is shown by member countries and EU institutions towards bringing those who are guilty of violating human rights before the courts. The resolution focuses on the slow pace of proceedings, limited time of responsibility and the frequent use of the "state secrets" argument. The Parliament called on Lithuania, Romania and Poland to run thorough and immediate investigations into CIA secret detention centers in their territories.
