According to a new poll by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), people from Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland, Hungary and Romania, whose populations are either remaining static or falling sharply, are more worried about emigration than immigration. The study questioned more than 45,000 people in 14 EU countries that account for 80% of the seats in the new European parliament. Many citizens said they wanted their government to control emigration. Twenty percent of respondents said emigration was a concern compared to 32% who said immigration was.
