It is important to remember those who died in the Second World War, because it strengthens and forms our morale. This is what Chairwoman of Parliament Khadija Arib stated last Thursday during the remembrance ceremony at the States General. Both the Senate and House of Representatives paid their respects to victims on the morning of May 4, the annual National Remembrance Day. They did this at the Honorary List of the Fallen, which holds 18,000 names of military and resistance fighters who died during the war. The list is displayed in the house of Parliament, at the Binnenhof.
