Minister of Social Affairs and PvdA (Labour) frontman Lodewijk Asscher has proposed to introduce the "right to unreachability." Modern work should come with modern protection, Asscher argues, and many employees feel pressured or guilted into checking and answering work emails or apps at night, causing stress. He stresses that this is not a prohibition of working from home, but that there should be clear agreements between employees and employers. In France, employees already have the "right to disconnect."
