Dutch King Willem-Alexander has stated in an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica that he is proud that none of the 65,000 refugees and migrants that came to the Netherlands in 2015 have had to sleep without a roof over their head. He finds it important that newcomers in the Netherlands are included in society. The Netherlands is a classic example of a multicultural society and has been offering shelter to people from all over the world for centuries. Freedom of religion, free press and the eternal fight against the water have made the Netherlands a strong democracy.
