A gay meeting spot in Ede, the Netherlands, has been closed after complaints by inhabitants of the municipality. The disturbance that the meeting spot would cause has been a controversial issue for a while. Hikers complained about men having intercourse in public. LGBTI interest group COC is disgruntled about the closure. "Research shows that 400 cars go there every day. Outsiders may not get it, but for many people, like married men and men who have not opened up about their homosexuality, this is an important spot to meet up."
