A hospital in the Czech city of Chomutov must refund 400 CZK (about 15 EUR) plus interest to Martin Franěk for illegally charging him to be present for the birth of his child. The decision, handed down by the district court in Ústí nad Labem, held that the fee, which the hospital applied towards the costs of training and equipment, as not necessary. The judgment is not final.
