Ahead of the EU's thematic debate on migration on 14 December, the European Commission has proposed a political roadmap to reach a comprehensive agreement on how to pursue a sustainable migration policy. An agreement on a stable, long-term EU migration and asylum policy is needed, and the Commission believes that only a comprehensive approach with all member states in agreement will work. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said, "Europe urgently needs to equip itself with future-proof means of managing migration responsibly and fairly."
