According to travelers' association ANWB, manufacturers gather much information out of cars without the owners' knowledge. These data may contain info about driving behavior, destinations and even data from the driver's phone. The interest clubs of motorists warn of a violation of privacy and want stricter laws. The ANWB has launched a campaign to raise awareness: car owners themselves should take control over what happens to data collected by their vehicle. In the European context, a campaign has been launched under the slogan My car, my data.
