The Bulgarian Parliament is expected to adopt a gender equality law by the end of October. Its aim is to ensure balanced representation of men and women in power and decision making as well as in every area of life. The law provides for the creation of a Gender Equality Coordinator, a new role in the state and regional administrations, including ministries, agencies, commissions and so on.
