Facebook has been ordered to remove posts that are determined to be hate speech, an appeals court in Austria has ruled. Following defamatory insults to its leader, Eva Glawischnig, posted on a fake Facebook account, Austria's Green Party filed suit to have the content removed. In April, Germany approved plans to fine social networks up to €50 million if they fail to remove such posts in a timely manner, and EU-wide rules are now under consideration by the European Union.
