A group of Syrian women in Berlin are adapting the Euripides tragedy "Iphigenia", using the play, which is set during an ancient war, to bring Berlin audiences closer to the plight of women who must flee their homes due to conflict. The 2,500-year-old story tells of a princess sacrificed by her father, the Greek King Agamemnon, to make peace with an angry goddess. Now, nine Syrian women living in Germany take the stage to tell their personal stories of escape and life in their new home country.
