The construction work in Budapest's City Park (Városliget), carried out under government plans, is being accompanied by permanent protests. Demonstrators exercising civil disobedience have chained themselves to buildings and climbed on top of facilities that are cordoned off. According to an HCLU expert present at the scene, the police are acting in a discriminatory and disproportionate way against the protesters. One of the activists was handcuffed and taken to a psychiatric hospital, while people holding a sit-in strike were, after warning, grabbed and pulled away from the cordons.
