The Belgian interior minister has proposed that incoming refugees be given "badges" with the person's photograph, name and address of the reception center where he or she lives. The initiative, proposed in order to reassure Belgian municipalities that have to accommodate these asylum seekers, was very poorly received by many associations defending human rights. They point to the stigmatization that will arise and the blurring of the line between refugee and criminal.
