As a result of a forced eviction, 500 Roma people, including pregnant women, elderly, ill people and children, have been thrown out into the streets of Rome. This move of the local authorities is a clear violation of international law and human rights, and leaves entire families in crisis and despair and increased vulnerability without giving them any alternative solution. The eviction was not accompanied by a formal notification and the families were not notified in advance. Only 11 women and children were relocated to institutional care but the others were left on the street.
