Residents say they would lose valuable green space in the park if the church is built.

Around 3,000 citizens of Savica and other parts of Zagreb gathered last Saturday in Trnjanska Savica park to protest against the construction of a church in the park. They agree that the beautiful park, which brings together residents from the neighborhood, is not a place for a church, and that the church should be built further south. They discussed two main problems: they would lose part of the green area; and the church tower would be situated only 50 meters from the closest windows. They signed a petition and hope to stop the construction, regardless of the construction permit.
