A new report by Doctors Without Borders, titled "Fuori Campo," reveals that 10,000 refugees and asylum seekers – men, women and children – are living outside the reception system in Italy, without any institutional support and in appalling living conditions. Italy has not been able to handle the increasing number of asylum requests and cannot provide sufficient places. Asylum seekers have to wait for months before they may access governmental support, as provided by law. This report is a call to the Italian government to take action.
